PureVent Pet Oxygen Project Mission

Firefighters are often forced to use human oxygen masks on pets. Because these masks don't fit the snout of a dog or cat, over 90% of the life-saving oxygen leaks out. Our specialized, tri-vented pet oxygen masks reduce co2 rebreathing by up to 80% delivering pure oxygen needed to revive an animal suffering from smoke inhalation. Your donation doesn't just buy gear—it buys a second chance.

Feel the impact

Pet oxygen masks are a gift that can impact your entire community

"For years, we’ve had the training to resuscitate pets, but we simply didn’t have the specialized equipment in our budget to make it happen. Thanks to the community donations through PureVent Pet Oxygen Project, every one of our first-out engines is now equipped with a full set of masks. It gives our team immense peace of mind knowing we don’t have to improvise with human masks anymore. Seeing the community step up to protect their own pets has been incredible for department morale."

Sarah Jensen

Captain

"We responded to a residential structure fire last month where a family dog was found unresponsive due to heavy smoke. In the past, we would have struggled with a human mask that doesn't fit. This time, we grabbed our PureVent pet oxygen mask donated by a local neighbor. The mask is perfect, the oxygen delivery was immediate, and we were able to revive the dog before the family even arrived on the scene. This equipment is a game-changer for fire ground operations."

Mike Rodriguez

Firefighter

"People often forget that our K9 officers face the same risks of smoke and toxin inhalation as our human officers. Our unit received three donated sets from the community, and it has changed the way we approach interior searches. Knowing that we have the PureVent Pet Oxygen Project kits specifically designed for our dogs’ snouts right in the patrol car is vital. To the donors who made this possible: thank you for looking out for the dogs who work so hard to keep this community safe."
